Solange Peters has been on various paths before her current role battling lung and other thoracic cancers. Today, she is director of the Clinical Oncology Department, Medical Oncology Service Chief, and Full Professor CHUV/Lausanne University Hospital (LUH), Switzerland. While medicine was an obvious choice with parents who were both physician pharmacologists, Peters considered going into law before watching some legal trials made her realise it was not that exciting. “Plus everything in science and medicine had explanations and made sense”, she tells The Lancet Respiratory Medicine.
