≥ 16 points → massive transfusion probability > 50%.
When to use
Early prediction of massive transfusion need to trigger the massive transfusion protocol.
How it works
Weighted points from sex, SBP, HR, hemoglobin, base excess, FAST and complex long-bone/pelvic fracture (0–28). ≥ 16 corresponds to > 50% probability via logistic conversion.
Key points
- ≥ 16 points → massive transfusion probability > 50%.
- Use the official logistic calculator for an exact percentage.
- Predicts massive transfusion need, not simply whether to transfuse.

The values below come from this tool's own example placeholders and are computed server-side with the formula shown on this page, so the arithmetic can be checked quickly. It demonstrates how to substitute values only — it is not clinical advice and not a real case.
| Sex | Male (1) |
|---|---|
| Systolic BP | 95 mmHg |
| Heart rate | 130 /min |
| Hemoglobin | 8.5 g/dL |
| Base excess | -7 mmol/L |
| FAST free fluid | Positive (3) |
| Complex long-bone / pelvic fracture | AIS 3–4 (3) |
→TASH22
- Band:22 (0–28) → High probability (≥ 16, massive transfusion probability > 50%)
- Action:High MT probability: activate the massive transfusion protocol (fixed-ratio products ~ 1:1:1), hemostatic resuscitation, rapid definitive hemorrhage control
- Exact probability:TASH converts the score to a probability via a logistic function (≥ 16 ≈ > 50%). For an exact percentage use the official logistic calculator (e.g. MDCalc TASH); this tool gives the score and band, not a fabricated percentage

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- What are the limits and cautions when using TASH Score (Trauma Massive Transfusion)?
- For licensed clinicians and clinical researchers. Interpret results with history, investigations and local protocols; not a diagnosis or prescription, and not a substitute for multidisciplinary decision-making or local guidelines.
- Does TASH Score (Trauma Massive Transfusion) upload patient data? Where is it calculated?
- Calculation runs locally in the browser; inputs and results are not uploaded. For licensed clinicians only; interpret with history, investigations and local protocols — not a diagnosis or prescription.
- How is TASH Score (Trauma Massive Transfusion) calculated in practice? Can you show a worked example?
